Hi! My name is Geoff Herbert, aka DJ DeafGeoff. I’m a wedding DJ in Syracuse, N.Y., with a passion for fun music.
I have more than 20 years of experience DJing at hundreds of events in Central New York, including weddings, private parties, bars, clubs, corporate events, sports games, school dances and more. I previously worked in radio for 10 years, including six years as “DeafGeoff,” the morning show producer for Hot 107.9 (WWHT-FM) in Syracuse.

As the nickname DeafGeoff suggests, I am mostly deaf. I was born with a profound binaural hearing loss; I hear about 10 percent as well as the average person without hearing aids. But with hearing aids, speech therapy, lipreading, and listening skills, I communicate verbally so well that people often forget I’m hard-of-hearing — and my disability has never limited my ability to mix music, create playlists, and select the best songs for any occasion.
Besides DJing, I’m a New York Emmy Award-nominated reporter and the SEO Lead for syracuse.com and The Post-Standard newspaper in Syracuse. I’m also a motivational speaker for schools, special needs groups and corporate events; visit deafgeoff.com for more info.
